Desert Blooms

It is spring and the wildflowers are coming up everywhere! Even some cacti are starting to leaf and flower. I went on a couple hikes with my camera over the weekend and then spent some time looking through an Arizona wildflower book to identify the pictures. Most of the flowers out in the desert are tiny and so many look very similar at first glance but are different species. So sometimes I'm not positive I have the name right but here are a few pictures and guesses!

Mexican vervain (verbena)

Fairy dusters -- these are everywhere, spreading across the hills

Desert honeysuckle

How fun! Those pictures make me very excited for spring to come. Especially as it snowed 4 more inches on Monday and is raining on top of the snow now. Glad you're enjoying the gorgeous weather out there!
